We are beyond excited to have you and your son/daughter considering being a part of our crazy cool athletics program here at our school. It is one of the most important things for your son/daughter to consider being a part of during their time here at CMS. Below are some key questions that are often asked by our incoming families. Take a moment to check them out and be prepared to be impressed. Thanks again and GO COOGS!!!
The AMAZING news about our programs is that we have a full selection of sports for your son/daugther to choose from - Coed Cross Country, Girls Volleyball, Coed Flag Football, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Wrestling, and Track & Field. The great news? Absolutely ZERO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Every single person that comes out for any sport will make a team. (Drop the Mic)
How long is each season/sport?
In DCSD, we firmly believe that giving students as many choices as possible is KEY. Yet we also believe that we don't want to have students choosing one sport over another if the dates of those seasons conflict. So, in DCSD our middle school sport seasons are only 5 weeks long. There is no overlapping of seasons so that students can choose to play as many sports for their schools as possible without having conflicts.
How many students actually come out for your athletics program at CMS?
That is such a GREAT question. Let's give you some numbers to showcase the amazing work going on here at THE Cresthill MS. So far in our 2022-2023 school year, we had 83 young men and women choose to participate in our Cross Country program, 144 come out for our girls vollleyball program, nearly 80 young women particiapted in our girls basketball program, and the highest numbers for Wrestling that we've had in nearly 5 years. AND THAT'S ONLY THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR!!!! We still have our 7th and 8th Boys Basketball seasons and Track & Field (traditionally have nearly 150+ students out for this sport alone) In short, there is no bigger program in our entire building that students choose to be a part of than our CMS Athletics Program.
How do I get my son/daugther signed up for this magical experience?
The great news is that you're exactly where you should be. This webpage (CMS Athletics Website) hosts ALL of the information you'll need to get you and your son/daugther movin' and groovin'. You can find information on registration, paperwork, practice information, game schedules, and contact information for our Athletics Director (Brad Wiidakas) and the true MVP of our building (Stephanie Young) who is our Athletics Administrative Assistant and CMS Bookeeper.
Is there a way to purchase some CMS SWAG (shirts, hoodies, accessories, etc.) that show off our new CMS pride?
Well....as a matter of fact we do!!!! All of our incoming families should click on the following link - CMS SWAG STORE. that we will give you access to a full variety of apparel and gear. IT. IS. AMAZING. We are super proud of the quality and variety of items that our families can choose from so get on board and purchase some SWEET CMS SWAG!!!
